Programs to automate marketing on Twitter were being greatly promoted a couple of ago. It was considered that you could use Twitter as an effective means to grow a list of prospective buyers for your products or services. Cutting through the hype, just what kind of results can you expect after utilizing these Twitter marketing tools? In this article, we are going to be talking about Twitter marketing and if it is even worth it for you to use it. Look at this social media website list to assist you.
Anxious to increase my product sales, I went ahead and started Twitter marketing to create a huge list of followers hoping to turn them into purchasers. Not only did I shell out money to join programs that would bring me followers but I invested in a number of softwares to help promote the products I was selling. In all, I ended up investing in about eight different programs that would assist me with all of this.
One of these software tools was an automatic ‘people follower’ on Twitter with the aim that some of those people would follow me back. If someone was not following me, I had another program that would automatically take them off my to-follow list. This would let me follow many people again to get them to follow me. Amongst other programs I got hold of, there was one program which automatically tweeted a blog post just as soon as it was posted to my blog. And when I began using all of these programs the results seemed to be impressive because they all did just what they said they would do. I was rapidly brought down to earth when I looked at my spreadsheet and found that I wasn’t actually generating any money! Daily I would post approximately ten blog entries knowing that they would then automatically be displayed on Twitter also. Hoping to increase the number of daily posts, I found a way to automatically post any number of entries to my blog and hopefully obtain more followers.
The results of my Twitter marketing efforts are: In three years, I was able to build a Twitter following of almost 10,000 users. And though you may think that is terrific, just wait. In the same 3 year period, my Twitter account gathered at least 15,000 blog posts that had links to my affiliate promotions. Other than that, I did no additional promotion for that blog, as a matter of fact I didn’t even ping the new blog entries to discover how good Twitter was could be. Well, you can’t say that 3 years isn’t long enough to achieve decent results but using Twitter I only got 2 – 4 visitors each day to my blog. My affiliate earnings from 2 transactions was $47 and to that you can add $8.65 Adsense revenue – pretty dismal all around!
In short, having approximately 10,000 followers on Twitter using all these tools will not give you the results you are looking for. The bottom line is that the money I’ve pulled in is not enough to cover the cost of the Twitter software I purchased to start with. There could be other more successful means of promoting on Twitter, but from my experience, using automatic software tools is not one of them.
